The largest electric car gathering in Poland has ended

EV Klub Polska electrified Łódź for the second time. On Saturday, nearly 200 electric cars drove through the streets of the city. The zero-emission cavalcade was about 1.5 kilometers long. The event included passenger vehicles and vans, and even an electric bus! The rally is a prelude to the largest e-mobility industry event in the Central and Eastern European region – the New Mobility Congress.

The country’s largest organization for users and supporters of electric motorization – EV Klub Poland Foundation – organized a convention for electric vehicles in Lodz for the second time. The event attracted a record number of participants from all over Poland.

– Since the beginning of 2022, the number of EV Klub Polska members has more than doubled to almost 5,000. The growing popularity of zero-emission vehicles in our country is also reflected in the attendance at the event, which exceeded 100 vehicles. This is an unquestionable success and motivation to organize more events of this type. – said Łukasz Lewandowski, president of the EV Klub Polska Foundation.

Some electric car drivers who came to the rally had to travel hundreds of kilometers to reach Łódź from distant parts of Poland and even from abroad. There were users who came from Germany (about 1,000 kilometers to Łódź) or even the Netherlands (about 1,100 kilometers). In total, more than half of the rally participants covered more than 15,000 km on their way to Łódź, reducing CO2 emissions by almost 2,000 kg.

– The number of participants confirms that longer trips are not an issue for electric cars anymore. EV ranges are growing, as well as charging capacities and the number of charging stations. Just a decade ago, zero-emission vehicles could travel a maximum of about 250-350 km on a single charge. Today, the average range of all-electric passenger cars available on the Polish market is about 400-500 km. The number of fast and ultra-fast charging stations is also systematically increasing. – adds Łukasz Lewandowski, president of the EV Klub Poland Foundation.

The rally participants started from Piotrkowska Street and drove in two columns along Mickiewicza, Włókniarzy, Drewnowska, Zachodnia and Ogrodowa Streets towards the finish line, i.e. Manufaktura Market Square. At 1 pm, the Electromobility Manufaktura began, which was opened by Adam Wieczorek, Deputy Mayor of the City of Łódź, and Łukasz Lewandowski, President of the EV Klub Polska Foundation. The event included discussions with users and practitioners of the zero-emission market. In addition, a number of the latest electric car models available on the Polish market were presented.

The Electromobility Manufaktura was an ideal place to share the expertise and experiences of electric car users with a wide audience. Their opinions are an invaluable knowledge, thanks to which both representatives of the industry and public administration have a chance to learn what legal, legislative and infrastructural changes are expected by future and current drivers of zero-emission vehicles in Poland. – sums up Łukasz Lewandowski, president of the EV Klub Poland Foundation.

The electric car convention is a prelude to this year’s edition of the New Mobility Congress – Central and Eastern Europe’s largest industry event entirely dedicated to e-mobility, which will be held in Łódź on September 12-14, 2022. The organizers of the Congress is the Polish Alternative Fuels Association (PSPA) and the City of Łódź, expect a record attendance of more than 1,500 Polish and foreign market practitioners, representatives of central administration, local governments and companies from the entire electromobility value chain.
