Electromobility in Poland. What’s next?

The New Mobility Congress 2022, the largest event of the sustainable transport sector in Poland and the CEE region, is fast approaching. The three-day conference will gather thousands of people professionally involved in the electromobility market in Lodz in less than 10 weeks. It is worth registering for the event sooner rather than later.

The New Mobility Congress, organized by the Polish Alternative Fuels Association (PSPA) and the City of Lodz, will begin on September 12th, 2022. This will be the third edition of one of the largest industry conferences in Central and Eastern Europe, fully dedicated to the development of the electromobility market. The event is aimed at representatives of the business world from the entire value chain of sustainable transportation and zero-emission technologies, as well as decision-makers representing public administration and local government. Congress participants will jointly create a forum of leaders, experts and practitioners of the new mobility market in Poland and Europe.

– Last year, the KNM attracted more than a thousand participants, including 176 representatives of local governments. This year’s edition of the KNM will again be held in Łódź, a city of innovation, which as one of 4 Polish metropolises, out of 100 awarded across the EU, qualified for the EU’s Climate Neutral and Smart Cities program. As the third largest city in Poland, we confirm our position among agglomerations implementing real measures to improve air and life quality and decarbonization. I encourage you to join the ranks of participants of the KNM 2022 and thus participate in the inauguration of the European Mobility Week in Lodz,” – says Hanna Zdanowska, Mayor of Lodz.

– This September, we will again bring buyers and sellers together in the zero-emission transportation ecosystem. Vehicle and infrastructure manufacturers, operators and charging service providers, technology companies, energy and fuel corporations, emerging startups and funding institutions will come together at the fastest growing event dedicated to electromobility to discuss technologies coming to market, as well as to identify business models, infrastructure requirements and partnerships to ensure the realization of mobility projects. All to reduce emissions and enable the safe and sustainable movement of people, goods and services in our country. As every year, the congress will also honor politicians, city officials, business leaders, diplomats, academics and market stakeholders from across CEE,” – adds Maciej Mazur, Managing Director of PSPA.

Side events

This year’s international edition of the Congress, which is being held under the theme „E-Mobility in Poland. What’s next?” will be accompanied by events dedicated to specific issues, including the Polish Battery Day, CEE Green Transport Initiative Summit and KNM Fleet Forum. These are regionally unique forums dedicated to the most important challenges of the sector, including, among others, Poland’s role in the global and European supply chain for batteries for electric vehicles, issues of popularization of fuel cell technology in transportation, or challenges related to mass electrification of fleets in Poland and the region. The congress will therefore be a unique meeting on a European scale, providing a forum for new mobility, a place for the exchange of ideas and expertise at the highest professional level.

– The congress takes place at an exceptionally important moment for our sector. The global economy and supply chains are struggling to return to pre-pandemic status, despite numerous crises such as the war in Ukraine. Climate change is advancing and the entire zero-carbon technology community is joining forces to address this challenge. Upcoming legislation in many regions points to ambitious and dynamic efforts to develop zero-carbon mobility. This is expressed in the EU’s Fit for 55 package, where acts such as AFIR, EPBD and RED will already bring fundamental changes to the road transport sector and its environment among Member States in the coming months, – says Alexander Rajch, PSPA’s Director of External Relations.

– We strongly encourage the entire electromobility industry to participate. The third edition of the Congress will be held under the slogan „E-Mobility Poland, What’s next?”. This is not an accidental statement. Poland and Europe are facing a number of challenges. In an era of such a dynamic drive transformation and adaptation to zero emissions, thoughtful and centralized action is needed. The KNM is an ideal place to discuss issues related to the challenges and needs of the market, including in the context of 2035 and the ban on the sale of new internal combustion vehicles, or the need to develop charging infrastructure, which is measurably exacerbated by the current geopolitical and economic situation,” – says Lukasz Witkowski, PSPA Operations Director.
